I asked my nephew, Rylan, if I could take a couple photos. He jumped onto the couch on the patio just as a breeze was coming off the oceans water from the Chesapeake Bay. This is what makes me excited for his future. It’s also what scares me. We can’t stop time and we only have our choices. Rylan is a meatball. And, I mean it literally! He’s messy and dense and absorbs everything and everyone around him. He’s starting to know the differences between right and wrong and is on the verge of speaking sentences. Once he has that down, it’s all him. From here on out Rylan will become Rylan and we will all have to accept that. I only hope his huge heart, caring attitude towards his family and love of the unknown will guide him to seek out the truths in this world.

Daily dose

The first time I was introduced to this exotic fruit I ended up with stained hands and sticky guitar strings.  We would have probably started off on better terms had it not been hours since sunset and no “how to” manual nearby.  Nonetheless, it has become a daily fixture in my life.  Not for the impatient, though, as it takes about 5-10 minutes to disassemble.  Good luck
